A family ефлes meals as they sit at the fire next to the collapsed buildings in the compound 600 in Hatay, Turkey, Wednesday February 8, 2023. 600 Konut is one of the shattered places in Hatay, the city that suffered the most damage in the earthquake in Turkey. These residences consist of 60 blocks. Each block has 5 floors and there are 2 flats on each floor. It takes its name from the 600 apartments located here. Built by cooperative in 1997, the site includes areas such as a kindergarten, primary school, mosque and sports facility. In the areas where people used to have picnics with their children, now there are people sitting in the cold, around the bondfire, among the ruined buildings, wondering if their families will come out of the rubble alive. 40 percent of the people living there are Syrian immigrants who came to Turkey after the war.
