Bettina Hansen

Bettina Hansen is a photo editor at The Seattle Times. She worked for ten years as a staff photographer at the Times before moving to the editing desk in 2022. Prior to moving to Seattle, she was a staff photographer at the Hartford Courant in Connecticut. Bettina’s passions as a photographer and photo editor are in coverage of breaking news, live sports and documentary work, while striving to uphold inclusive and equitable values across coverage and newsroom decisions.

Jessey Dearing

Jessey Dearing is a Seattle-based cinematographer, director of photography and film editor. He regularly contributes to projects and stories for The New York Times and Vice News Tonight, and was a director of photography for National Geographic’s relaunched flagship series “Explorer.” His work has been published by MSNBC, Washington Post, Univision and NPR, among others. He has experience reporting around the globe, filming and producing projects in Kenya, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico and all over the United States, and specializes in character-driven, intimate storytelling that illuminates broader news stories and issues.

Mint Boonyapanachoti

Mint Boonyapanachoti is a a creative technologist and 3D designer working at the intersection of storytelling, art, and technology. Previously, Mint was part of The New York Times Research & Development Lab where she explored how technology can unlock new forms of storytelling while developing new methods to advance the way journalism is delivered and experienced by readers. Her main focus is 3D capture, and her efforts have led to groundbreaking efforts on how to streamline 3D content.

Her projects have been recognized by the Asian American Journalists Association Excellence in Journalism, NYNewswomen, Forbes, Society for News Design, New York Press Club and the International Symposium on Online Journalism. She has also collaborated with The Online News Association and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation on a project that aims to make 3D scanning more accessible to the journalism community around the world.

Anna Rothschild

Anna Rothschild is a science presenter, video producer, and journalist. Currently, she is the senior video producer at ABC's FiveThirtyEight, and the host of PODCAST-19: FiveThirtyEight on the Novel Coronavirus. Previously, Rothschild was the on-air science host for The Washington Post, where she launched The Post's family-friendly variety show Science Magic Show Hooray! on Amazon Prime. She is also the creator, host, and animator of the popular YouTube channel Gross Science for NOVA and PBS Digital Studios, which is shown in classrooms and museums around the globe.
