Caught In a highly political power game between Turkey and the EU --- The announcement of Turkey opening the Turkish border on 29 February prompts tens of thousands of refugees and migrants to take buses, from Istanbul in particular, to northwest Turkey and the Greek border. They hope to enter the EU in a way that is safe and easy, but the Greek border agents have not opened their border barrier and the many refugees and migrants are stranded in an area near the border crossing Pazarkule; others settle down in various places on the outskirts of the town of Edirne. In a park a Syrian family from Damascus has made a makeshift tent out of a tarpaulin. The two sisters, ages eight and ten, play inside the tent. The father is afraid to say what their names are. The family don???t enjoy the tent for long; that night, the police demolish the camp. After some weeks, all the disappointed refugees and migrants have left the border area and Greece can report that it has kept the outer border of the EU closed. 5 March 2020
