Judges’ comments

Lori Allred

This was another good category, that ended with a good debate. In the end “Saving the Dead” won because of the basics. Great eye movement, great nats, he let it breath. Clean, Clean, Clean. A couple of the other pieces were very good, with a higher level of difficulty, but had some simple mistakes.

John Hyjek

Some fine work is available on the web to those with the bandwith and buffer memory to view it. It was another hard category to judge and the winners were all quite close.

A First to “SAVING THE DEAD” for its simplicity and excellent use of eye movement. Almost as much eye movement was inherent in second place “CRISIS IN DARFUR” as well as incredibly timed edits. Third place is given to “LIFTOFF OF TROOPER 2” and honorable mentions go to three pieces: “CONTAMINATION AND A CRUSADE” (heart warming), “RESPECT” (good pace and subtle underlying story), and “DRIVING DETRIOT” (nice effects but one flash frame from placing).
