Judges’ comments

Lori Allred

“Drum Line” was clearly the winner. It made me want do a little air drumming just watching it. Nice job cutting to the beat of the drum…and in this case I believe the editor made it look a little easier than it actually was. A more difficult piece to cut than “Home Opener and Herb” which I also liked very much. Not sure how close to opening day Herbs death was, but nice job on the pacing and nats.

“A Place in the Sun” was another great example of K.I.S.S. The editor could have really tried to slam home the differences –but instead, showed a real restraint and respect for the contrast.

You could not ask for a better paced piece of rhythm than first place “I JUST LOVE THE WAY IT FEELS”. Its’ cymbolism (insert smile) just beat (beat, get it) second place “HOME OPENER AND HERB” by a rim shot. “A PLACE IN THE SUN” grabbed the third place with it steady simple approach.
