Many of the root causes of northward migration from Mexico and Central America can be found in any small village. This picture story looks at some of the root causes of migration by looking at one such town, Sauta, in the Western Mexican state of Nayarit where over 50% of the adult population has migrated north.

The judges split hairs between The Naked King and Dashed Dreams.
Both Josh and Andrew (who had pieces in this part of the competition) were not part of the judging.
Dashed Dreams came out on top because of it's compelling story line and the photographer's ability to use his access to capture real moments and emotions.
