Emily-01-Emily Burnett is 6 years old. In that time, she has spoken three words. LaDora and Robert Burnett’s daughter has autism. So does their son Harrison, who is verbal and higher functioning. They don’t give up hope that Emily will some day break free from the mysterious world of autism that binds her.
Emily Burnett has a tantrum at her home in Redding. Emily has autism and can’t talk. Her parents say frustration boils over because she is unable to communicate her needs and feelings.
