Katie says that EmmaLee has always looked more grown-up than her age. “She’s not a cute baby. She’s pretty. There’s a difference,” says Katie. When 19-year-old Katie Guggenmos found out she was pregnant, she was broken up with the baby’s father and had no plans of being a mother. But early discovery that the baby Emmalee’s skull plates were not developing properly brought the two closer together, and the family watched father Arik Wood “grow from a boy into a dad,” said grandmother Sandra Guggenmos. “Emmalee was a blessing,” Arik said of his now-healthy baby girl.
