SPORTS PHOTOJOURNALIST OF THE YEAR - “Escape from Alcatraz” - SAN FRANCISCO - JUNE 04: Competitors exit the water to the transition area at the end of the swim leg the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon on June 4, 2006 in San Francisco, California. Considered to be one of the most grueling triathlon swim courses, competitors must brave strong currents, frigid temperatures, and an occasional sea lion or shark for 1.5 miles before exiting to the 18 mile bike and 8 mile run.
