“The Tragedy of Barbaro” Edgar Prado struggles to stop Barbaro after his leg has snapped and the hoof dangles while the horse tries maintain his balance during the running of the 131st Preakness. Prado eventually got Barbaro stopped and jumped off the horse before more harm could come to him. A few furlongs after the start Barbaro clipped hoofs with another horse in front and broke his back right leg in several places. The leg right above the hoof was dangling horribly.
