“Wildfires” Ryan Myers, a member of the U.S. Forest Service Los Padres Hotshots crew, grabs a fellow firefighter’s helmet as he moves away from the flames of a fire near Yucca Valley, about 100 miles east of Los Angeles. Temperatures hit 108 degrees as 2,500 firefighters battled the blaze. Serveral of wildfires rip through Southern California destroying over a hundred thousand acres, nearly a hundred homes, and killing five U.S. Forest Service firefighters and a resident.
