The word “fashionista” was coined in the book Thing of Beauty to describe “the army of models, photographers, designers, hair and makeup people, stylists and editors who toiled daily in the beauty trenches.” For years, fashionista have endured grueling schedules chasing the “big four” of fashion weeks, mostly held over the course of a month, twice a year—New York, London, Milan and Paris.
