Zakiyah Zaki, a high school principal from the Parwaan province in Afghanistan, takes a tea break during the group's tour of Gering Junior High School in Gering, Nebraska. Zakiyah, who ran an underground radio station during the Taliban, describes how life has changed for women, "Today we are playing very important roles in the society of Afghanistan. The press law gave us the opportunity for freedom of speech and expression. Women have started to put their voices in the news and media."
