Using his foot to balance, Edward reaches for a pencil he dropped in class during school at Ireland Elementary School. He is very independent at school needing only the aid of a small stepstool next to the classroom sink. Edward's teacher Melinda Woods said, "Eddie can do so much and so well, you don't look at him as being disabled. You don't use the word disabled to describe Eddie."
