Calluses show the wear and tear Edward's hands have taken to get him around since he does not use a wheelchair. After quickly growing out of his first wheelchair, Edward preferred the freedom he had by using his hands. Without partial appendages to attach them too, Edward is not a candidate for artificial legs.
