UGANDA'S CHILDREN IN CRISIS — Patients crowd the cramped waiting room at the Paediatric Infectious Diseases Clinic (PIDC) of Mulago Hospital in Kampala, Uganda May 13, 2005. On this day, a Friday, the clinic saw 187 patients. The clinic is one of only a few HIV treatment facilities for pediatrics in Uganda, where it is estimated that there are approximately 100,000 HIV infected children.
